About the Role
Our client is at the forefront of developing sustainable energy solutions and is seeking a highly experienced Lead Geothermal Energy Specialist to spearhead their geothermal projects in Rustenburg . This senior role involves the full lifecycle management of geothermal energy initiatives, from exploration and resource assessment to project development and operational oversight. You will lead a team of geoscientists and engineers, ensuring the successful and efficient extraction of geothermal resources.
This is a critical leadership position for an individual passionate about harnessing the earth's natural heat for reliable power generation.
- Lead geological and geophysical surveys to identify and assess geothermal resource potential.
- Oversee the design and drilling of geothermal wells, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Develop and implement resource management strategies for long-term sustainable energy production.
- Manage project execution, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk assessment for geothermal power plants .
- Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and safety standards.
- Mentor and guide the geothermal exploration and development team.
- Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Geology, Geophysics, or a related earth science field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in geothermal exploration and project development.
- Demonstrated expertise in well logging, reservoir characterization, and geothermal fluid dynamics.
- Proven leadership experience managing technical teams and large-scale projects.
- Strong understanding of geothermal power plant technologies and operations.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
