Power Systems Engineer

Our client is looking for a specialized Power Systems Engineer to join their established operations in Rustenburg . This critical role involves the planning, design, and analysis of electrical power systems, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and safety. You will tackle challenging projects related to grid infrastructure, renewable energy integration, and high-voltage systems. The position requires a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application in a demanding industrial setting.

• Design, model, and analyze electrical power systems, including load flow, short circuit, and stability studies.
• Develop specifications for power system equipment such as transformers, switch gear, and generators.
• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of power system assets.
• Ensure compliance with national and international standards for power system design and operation.
• Provide technical expertise and support for grid connection studies and renewable energy integration projects.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex power system issues, recommending and implementing effective solutions.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in power system analysis and design.
• Proficiency with power system simulation software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E, DIgSILENT Power Factory).
• Deep understanding of high-voltage engineering principles and grid operations.
• Experience with protection systems and relay coordination.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
