Electrical Engineer - Mining & Energy

Our client is looking for a qualified and dedicated Electrical Engineer to support their operations in the mining and energy sector in Rustenburg . This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliable design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems that power critical infrastructure. You will work on diverse projects, from plant upgrades to new installations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

• Design, develop, and implement electrical systems for mining equipment, power generation, and distribution networks.
• Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of new electrical infrastructure and equipment.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance of electrical systems to ensure operational integrity and safety.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and implement timely repairs to minimize downtime.
• Ensure all electrical designs and installations comply with South African National Standards (SANS) and other relevant regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers and project managers, on electrical aspects of projects.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on industrial environments, particularly mining or energy .
• Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP) and diagnostic tools.
• Strong knowledge of power systems, motor controls, instrumentation, and PLCs.
• Experience with high and medium voltage systems is essential.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Technologist (Pr Tech Eng) registration preferred.
