Telecoms Field Engineer

Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Telecoms Field Engineer to support their network infrastructure across Rustenburg and surrounding areas. This role involves the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of various telecommunications equipment and systems, including mobile network base stations and fixed-line infrastructure. You will play a crucial part in ensuring the high availability and optimal performance of our client's network services, directly impacting customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

This is a field-based position requiring travel, offering the chance to work on diverse projects within the rapidly evolving telecommunications landscape of the North West province.

• Install, configure, and commission new telecommunications equipment, including base stations, routers, and switches.
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and preventative repairs on network infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in the field, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
• Conduct site surveys, ensuring infrastructure readiness and compliance with design specifications.
• Maintain detailed technical documentation, service reports, and inventory records.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to ensure project success and adherence to timelines.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience as a Field Engineer in the telecoms industry . In-depth knowledge of mobile network technologies (e.g., LTE, 5G) and/or fixed-line infrastructure.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and test equipment relevant to the telecoms sector.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity for independent work in remote locations.
