Chemical Engineer - Water Treatment Technologies

Our client, a leader in providing advanced environmental solutions, is seeking a dedicated Chemical Engineer to focus on Water Treatment Technologies at their facility in Rustenburg, North West . This role involves the design, development, and optimization of chemical processes for industrial and municipal water treatment applications. You will be responsible for evaluating new technologies, conducting pilot studies, and providing technical support for the implementation of treatment systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of water chemistry, separation processes, and environmental regulations. • Design and develop chemical treatment processes for various water sources, including wastewater and process water.
• Evaluate and select appropriate treatment technologies, such as coagulation, flocculation, membrane filtration, and ion exchange.
• Conduct laboratory and pilot-scale testing to validate treatment process performance.
• Analyze water quality data and provide recommendations for process optimization.
• Prepare technical reports, proposals, and design documents for water treatment systems.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to operations and field teams.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental permits and regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and equipment suppliers.
• Stay updated on emerging trends and innovations in water and wastewater treatment.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in water or wastewater treatment process design and operation.
• Strong knowledge of water chemistry, physical/chemical treatment processes, and biological treatment principles.
• Experience with membrane technologies (RO, UF, MF) and ion exchange is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with relevant environmental regulations and standards.
• Proficiency in process simulation software is an advantage.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
