Lead Control Systems Engineer

Our client, a leader in industrial automation solutions, is seeking a dynamic Lead Control Systems Engineer to drive innovation from their Rustenburg operations. This position is pivotal in developing sophisticated control strategies and systems for complex industrial processes. You will be responsible for guiding a team of talented engineers, ensuring the successful design, implementation, and optimization of automation projects. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement, providing a balance between in-office collaboration in Rustenburg and remote flexibility.

You will be instrumental in delivering state-of-the-art solutions to a diverse client base.

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced control systems for industrial applications.
• Develop PLC/DCS programming, HMI/SCADA development, and system integration strategies.
• Conduct system analysis, performance tuning, and troubleshooting to optimize operational efficiency and reliability.
• Manage control system projects from concept to completion, including scope definition, planning, execution, and commissioning.
• Mentor and supervise a team of control systems engineers, providing technical direction and performance feedback.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, mechanical, and software engineers, to ensure seamless system integration.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including control logic, system architecture diagrams, and user manuals.
• Stay current with industry advancements in automation, robotics, and control technologies.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field;
  Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in control systems engineering, with a proven track record of leading projects.
• Extensive experience with PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell Automation) and SCADA/HMI software.
• Strong understanding of control theory, feedback systems, and automation principles.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language relevant to control systems (e.g., C++, Python).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for client site visits and project commissioning.
