Senior Sound Designer

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and imaginative Senior Sound Designer to join their dedicated audio team in Rustenburg. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting immersive and impactful soundscapes that elevate the player experience across various interactive entertainment projects. You will work closely with game designers, composers, and engineers to create everything from atmospheric ambiences to explosive sound effects.

This position requires a deep understanding of audio principles, a passion for storytelling through sound, and a collaborative spirit within a studio environment.

• Design, record, edit, and mix high-quality sound effects for gameplay, user interfaces, and cinematic moments.
• Develop immersive environmental audio and ambiences that enhance the game world.
• Implement audio assets into the game engine using middleware like Wwise or FMOD.
• Collaborate with the game design team to integrate audio elements seamlessly into gameplay mechanics.
• Provide technical and creative direction to junior sound designers and external sound vendors.
• Troubleshoot and resolve audio-related bugs and technical issues within the development pipeline.

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Sound Designer in the video game industry.
• Proficiency with DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations) such as Pro Tools, Reaper, or Cubase, and audio middleware (Wwise, FMOD).
• Strong understanding of acoustics, psychoacoustics, and audio engineering principles.
• Experience with field recording techniques and Foley artistry.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet project deadlines in a studio setting.
