Senior Game Writer

Our client is looking for a talented and imaginative Senior Game Writer to craft compelling narratives and engaging dialogue for their next generation of video games. Based in our Rustenburg studio, you will be instrumental in developing the lore, characters, and storylines that immerse players in our unique worlds. This role requires a deep understanding of interactive storytelling and the ability to collaborate effectively with game designers, artists, and programmers.

You will play a key part in shaping the player experience through powerful narrative design and exceptional writing, contributing to critically acclaimed titles within a passionate development team.

• Develop and write engaging narratives, character backstories, quest dialogue, and in-game text.
• Collaborate with game designers to ensure narrative elements are seamlessly integrated into gameplay mechanics and player progression.
• Create detailed narrative design documents, outlines, and scripts for development teams.
• Edit and polish existing narrative content to ensure consistency, clarity, and emotional impact.
• Contribute to world-building, lore development, and overall narrative consistency across the game.
• Provide creative input and feedback on story elements during all phases of game development.

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Game Writing or narrative design.
• A strong portfolio showcasing narrative design work and published writing samples for games.
• Excellent command of storytelling techniques, character development, and dialogue writing.
• Familiarity with game development pipelines and collaborative tools (e.g., scriptwriting software, version control).
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to evolving project needs.
• Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing, English, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
