IT Support Technician - Field Services

Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive IT Support Technician to join their expanding technical services team in Rustenburg, North West . This role is integral to ensuring the smooth operation of IT infrastructure across various company sites. You will be responsible for providing on-site technical support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, performing installations and upgrades, and maintaining network connectivity for end-users.

• Provide hands-on technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network issues across various company locations.
• Diagnose and resolve complex IT problems, including desktop, laptop, printer, and mobile device issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, operating systems, and application software.
• Perform network troubleshooting, including connectivity issues, Wi-Fi problems, and basic network device configuration.
• Manage IT inventory, including hardware and software assets, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
• Assist with the setup and configuration of new user accounts and workstations.
• Respond to IT support tickets in a timely and efficient manner, prioritizing critical issues.
• Collaborate with senior IT staff on larger projects and system upgrades.
• Ensure all IT support activities are documented thoroughly in the IT ticketing system.

• Proven experience as an IT Support Technician or in a similar technical support role.
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS), and common business applications.
• Familiarity with network concepts, protocols, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with IT support ticketing systems and remote support tools.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to different company sites in the Rustenburg, North West area are essential.
• Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+) are a plus.
