Junior Buyer

About the Role

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Junior Buyer to join their procurement team in Rustenburg . This entry-level position is an excellent opportunity for an individual keen to build a career in purchasing and supply chain management. You will support senior buyers in the day-to-day operational tasks, gaining valuable experience in sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships. The role requires close collaboration with internal departments and external vendors, making strong communication skills and a proactive attitude essential for success within our client's operational framework.

• Assist senior buyers in sourcing and evaluating suppliers for various goods and services.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders based on approved requisitions and ensure accuracy.
• Track orders and deliveries, communicating any delays or issues to relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain procurement records and update supplier databases as needed.
• Support negotiations with suppliers under the guidance of senior procurement staff.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to departmental process improvements.

• Some experience in an administrative, purchasing, or sales support role is preferred.
• Basic understanding of procurement principles and practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data entry and basic analysis.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• A desire to learn and develop within the procurement field; a relevant qualification is advantageous.
