Buyer - Strategic Sourcing

Our client is seeking a results-driven Buyer with a specialization in Strategic Sourcing to join their established purchasing department in Rustenburg . This critical on-site role involves identifying, evaluating, and securing suppliers for a wide range of goods and services, with a strong emphasis on achieving cost efficiencies and ensuring supply chain resilience. You will play a key part in optimizing spend, managing supplier relationships, and contributing to the overall strategic goals of the company.

• Conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities and financial stability.
• Lead negotiations on pricing, terms, and conditions for contracts, aiming for significant cost reductions and value enhancement.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, monitoring their performance and addressing any issues proactively.
• Generate and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of goods and services.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure procurement activities align with business requirements.
• Monitor commodity markets and industry trends to inform sourcing strategies and mitigate supply chain risks.

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a buyer or procurement role, with a focus on strategic sourcing.
• Demonstrated success in negotiating contracts and achieving substantial cost savings.
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate supplier proposals and market data effectively.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is preferred.
