Mine Safety Inspector

Our client is seeking a vigilant and experienced Mine Safety Inspector to ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations at their facilities in Rustenburg . This critical role involves conducting regular site inspections, identifying potential hazards, investigating accidents, and recommending corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel. You will play a key part in promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring that all mining operations meet stringent national and international safety standards.

• Conduct routine and unannounced safety inspections of all mining areas and related facilities.
• Identify unsafe conditions and practices, and enforce safety regulations and procedures.
• Investigate all mine accidents, injuries, and near misses, preparing detailed reports and recommendations.
• Develop and implement safety training programs for all levels of mine personnel.
• Monitor compliance with health and safety legislation and standards.
• Advise mine management on safety matters and recommend improvements to safety systems.

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
• Certified Mine Safety Professional or equivalent certification.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mine safety inspection and management.
• Thorough knowledge of mining operations, safety equipment, and emergency procedures.
• Excellent understanding of South African mining safety legislation.
• Strong observational skills, attention to detail, and reporting capabilities.
