Senior Game Developer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Senior Game Developer to join their innovative studio in Rustenburg . You will play a key role in the design, development, and implementation of core gameplay mechanics and systems for exciting new titles within the Arts & Entertainment sector. This position requires a deep understanding of game development principles, strong problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative spirit to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

You will contribute directly to the creation of engaging player experiences and help shape the future of our game portfolio.

• Design, develop, and optimize core gameplay systems and features using C++ and game engines like Unreal Engine or Unity.
• Collaborate with designers, artists, and other engineers to implement game mechanics and ensure seamless integration.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code, adhering to best practices for game development.
• Identify and resolve complex technical challenges and bugs throughout the development cycle.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical discussions and architectural decisions.

• 5+ years of professional experience in game development, with a proven track record of shipping titles.
• Strong proficiency in C++ or C#, and experience with major game engines (Unreal Engine, Unity).
• Solid understanding of game physics, AI, networking, and rendering pipelines.
• Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.
• Experience working in a team-oriented, agile development environment in Rustenburg.
