About the Role
Our client seeks an experienced Senior Java Developer to join their core engineering team in Rustenburg . You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex enterprise applications that are critical to the company's operations. This role requires a deep understanding of Java ecosystems, a passion for writing high-quality code, and the ability to work collaboratively within a structured development environment.
You will contribute to significant projects, tackle challenging technical problems, and help mentor junior developers, playing a key role in the evolution of our client's software solutions.
- Design, develop, and implement robust, scalable, and high-performance enterprise applications using Java and related technologies
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, testers, and other developers, to deliver high-quality software solutions
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior development staff
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Java software development
- Strong expertise in Java programming language and the Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC)
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) and ORM frameworks (e.g., Hibernate)
- Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular/React) is a plus
- Understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
- Experience with version control systems like Git and agile methodologies
