About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Route Planner to join their expanding logistics division in Rustenburg . This role is crucial for optimizing the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of our transportation network across the North West province. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving delivery routes, utilizing sophisticated software and your extensive knowledge of the region's infrastructure.
This position demands a strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail, dedicated to ensuring timely and reliable deliveries. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining our operational excellence and customer satisfaction, working full-time from our Rustenburg facility.
- Design and optimize complex delivery routes for a diverse fleet of vehicles.
- Analyze geographical data, traffic patterns, and delivery time windows to create efficient schedules.
- Utilize specialized routing software and provide technical support to dispatchers.
- Monitor route performance in real-time and implement adjustments to overcome unforeseen challenges.
- Collaborate with operations and sales teams to meet customer delivery expectations and service level agreements.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in transportation operations.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in route planning , logistics, or transportation management.
- In-depth knowledge of advanced route optimization software (e.g., Descartes, Oracle TMS, or similar).
- Strong understanding of the road networks and logistical challenges within the Rustenburg region.
