JOB SUMMARY

The Assistant Program Director reports to the Program Director and is responsible for providing specialized services which will assist residents of the Enhanced Behavioral Support Home in achieving their treatment goals, under the supervision of the Program Director, as well as coordinating all day-to-day activities and tasks related to client care and compliance.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in the accomplishment of the treatment plan for residents, under the supervision of the Program Director.
  • Maintain appropriate case recording documentation as per agency and contract guidelines including Special Incident Reports.
  • Transport residents to doctors’ appointments and laboratories for tests
  • Conduct daily living skills sessions and re-socialization activity groups.
  • Attend staff meetings as required, including weekly supervision meetings with the Program Director.
  • Attend job-related conferences and also participate in a variety of in-service trainings, seminars, and practicum.
  • Participate in carrying out individual and group treatment programs for residents and encourage resident participation in treatment activities.
  • Motivate residents to develop self-reliance in daily living.
  • Observe resident’s physical condition and behavior, report significant changes to the Program Director.
  • Responsible for ensuring staffing ratio is at a minimum by being able to work any and all shifts upon request.
  • Think and act quickly and efficiently in emergencies.
  • Responsible for home being in compliance with Title 17 and 22.
  • Ensuring home has all supplies needed, including but not limited to food, cleaning and program supplies.
  • Responsible for tracking, coding and submitting all invoices.
  • Ensure staff complete all required documentation.
  • Ensure residents’ programs are followed and being implemented as directed, model appropriate responses and interventions.
  • Communicate with residents, families, caseworkers and regulating agencies.
  • Coordinate all aspects of client care, including but not limited to visits, medical apts., schools, therapy, etc.
  • The APD when needed, will be scheduled to support the home in ensuring client to staff ratio is maintained.
  • Formally meet with direct reports at a minimum of once a month and all meetings, feedback and coaching sessions are documented.
  • Ensure company property is maintained and in good working order at all times.
  • Respond to emergency health situations in appropriate manner as defined by emergency first aid training.
  • Physical presence at the program is required.
  • Ensure direct report staff follow the agency’s timecard, PTO (Paid Time Off), and California’s rest and meal period policies. Will monitor staff timesheets to ensure they are completed accurately.
  • Employees are expected to manage their cell phone use so that the Agency cell phone stipend covers all business usage. Any calls not covered by the stipend are to be made on a company landline phone.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Have a minimum of two years of prior experience providing direct care or supervision to residents with developmental disabilities and be one of the following to start:
  • A Registered Behavior Technician.
  • A licensed psychiatric technician.
  • A Qualified Behavior Modification Professional.
  • Shall complete the Registered Behavior Technician Training within 60 days of hire and will maintain certification for duration of employment.
  • Prior experience supporting targeted population.
  • Must meet the minimum age of 21 pursuant to California Health & Safety Code Section 1562.
  • Communicate effectively in written and spoken English. Ability to write acceptable progress reports required for treatment documentation.
