- Forge a Proactive Culture:
Elevate the safety mindset across 700+ manufacturing employees from a compliance-driven model to one of deep, proactive ownership. - Executive EHS Partner:
Act as the strategic EHS authority, coaching manufacturing leadership on best practices, risk mitigation, and technical solutions to solidify safety as a core operational value. - Drive Engagement:
Build powerful cross-functional alliances to embed safety practices at every level. Design and deploy high-impact employee programs (e.g., learning teams, recognition) that boost ownership and engagement on the production floor. - Develop Talent:
Lead, mentor, and empower a high-performing team of 3–5 EHS professionals.
- Risk Mitigation & Engineering:
Systematically identify, assess, and eliminate workplace hazards. Lead the engineering and implementation of workstation redesigns and technical controls for continuous safety improvement. - Guaranteed Compliance:
Ensure unwavering compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and all applicable regulations. Design and run rigorous auditing programs to measure and continuously enhance EHS effectiveness. - Data-Driven Prevention:
Direct all incident investigations and root cause analysis to implement sustainable, corrective actions. Utilize predictive safety analytics to identify trends, forecast high-risk activity, and deploy preventative controls.
- Machine Guarding:
Implementing state-of-the-art physical barriers, light curtains, and interlocks. - Ergonomics:
Leading assessments and engineering controls to dramatically reduce musculoskeletal disorder risks. - LOTO Program:
Developing and auditing robust Lockout/Tagout procedures for all equipment. - Logistics:
Improving forklift and pedestrian safety through enhanced traffic flow, barriers, and alert systems.
- Sustainability Leadership:
Drive measurable progress in environmental efforts, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, and air emissions control. - System Maturity:
Elevate the quality and functionality of their EHS management systems (ORM/OHSMS), including the digitization of reporting and compliance tracking. - Operational Integration:
Integrate EHS goals into lean manufacturing principles (5S, Standard Work) to improve both safety and efficiency simultaneously.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical) or a related technical field. - Experience:
10+ years of progressive EHS leadership within a medium-to-large manufacturing environment (electrical/electronics experience highly valued). - Certifications:
Active and recognized professional safety or manufacturing certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, CMfgA, ISO certification). - Knowledge:
Comprehensive and demonstrated understanding of general industry standards and advanced safety practices for complex manufacturing.
- Advanced degree (MS or BS) in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Proven record of successfully driving significant culture change and delivering quantifiable improvements in safety metrics.
- Expertise in lean manufacturing tools (5S, value stream mapping, standard work).
- Experience administering EHS management systems (e.g., Enablon, Origami, Gen Suite).
- Advanced analytical skills and practical experience with advanced problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, DMAIC, FMEA).
- Specific technical experience with fabrication, welding, assembly, and operating/maintaining lifting equipment (cranes, forklifts).
Salary range: $150,000 to $200,000
