The Opportunity

An established civil engineering contractor is looking for a Graduate Estimator to join its team in North Wales.

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate looking to build a career in estimating, gaining hands-on experience across civil engineering and infrastructure projects while learning from an experienced team.

You'll be involved in the tendering process from the early stages, developing your technical and commercial knowledge and working closely with colleagues across pre-construction, commercial and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing cost estimates and tender submissions.

  • Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.

  • Support the preparation of material, labour and plant costings.

  • Request and assess quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.

  • Help identify commercial risks, opportunities and potential cost savings.

  • Liaise with internal teams to gather project information.

  • Maintain accurate estimating records and documentation.

  • Support the handover of successful tenders to project delivery teams.

Requirements
  • A degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.

  • A genuine interest in civil engineering estimating and pre-construction.

  • Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.

  • Good attention to detail and a willingness to learn.

  • Confident communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

  • A proactive approach to problem-solving.

Previous estimating experience is beneficial but not essential for the right graduate.

What's on Offer?
  • Salary of up to £35,000, depending on experience.

  • The opportunity to develop within an established civil engineering contractor.

  • Hands-on training and support from experienced professionals.

  • Exposure to a varied portfolio of civil engineering and infrastructure projects.

  • A clear opportunity to build a long-term career in estimating.
