September 2026 UK applicants only – no sponsorship available About the Role At Stretton Shires School, we believe every young person deserves an education that recognises their strengths, nurtures their individuality and helps them achieve more than they ever thought possible. As we enter an exciting period of growth, we're looking for passionate and creative SEN Teachers to join our dedicated team.
This is your opportunity to be part of a specialist setting where relationships come first, every achievement is celebrated, and learning is tailored to meet the needs of each individual pupil. Our pupils, aged 11–19, have Autism, Learning Disabilities and associated SEMH needs. Many are working below age-related expectations and need teachers who can think differently, adapt creatively and inspire them to re-engage with learning in ways that truly make sense to them.
Whether you're an experienced SEN teacher, have an EYFS or primary background, or are a subject specialist looking to apply your expertise in a more personalised and rewarding environment, we'd love to hear from you. What You'll Be Doing Plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons across informal, semi-formal and formal learning pathways. Teach individuals and small groups, adapting your approach to meet a range of complex learning needs.
Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom where pupils can build confidence, independence and resilience. Monitor, assess and celebrate pupil progress, adapting teaching to maximise outcomes. Develop and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs), behaviour plans and personalised learning targets. Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development through positive, relationship-based practice. Lead or contribute to the development of curriculum areas and bring your own interests and expertise to school life.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and professionals to provide a consistent and holistic approach to each young person's education. About You We're looking for someone who:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS). Is passionate about inclusive education and believes every young person can succeed. Brings experience from SEN, primary, EYFS or subject specialist teaching backgrounds. Builds strong, trusting relationships and inspires pupils to engage with learning. Is patient, resilient and committed to supporting pupils with Autism, Learning Disabilities and SEMH needs. Is reflective, adaptable and motivated to continuously develop their practice.
Enjoys working collaboratively and contributing positively to a close-knit school community. Holds a full UK driving licence. Established in 2005 as a residential home and school, we are currently growing our day pupil numbers, meaning we constantly need to recruit passionate and dedicated staff to support our growth aspirations.
Our aim for the young people coming to Stretton Shires is quite simple; we want every young person to progress developmentally, educationally and socially. We want them to develop an understanding of themselves and to experience what success feels like. Through these actions, we can equip every young person with the skills and knowledge they need to go on to succeed.
For over 19 years, Options Autism has provided specialist care and education for children, young people, and adults with autism, complex needs, and learning difficulties.
