Leisure Assistant – Uppingham School

Uppingham School Sports Centre seeks a Leisure Assistant with experience in customer service to join our team on a temporary 9‑month maternity cover. This role offers an exciting chance to play a pivotal part in the smooth operation of a state‑of‑the‑art sports facility.

• Act as the primary point of contact within the sports centre for pupils, staff and the general public, warmly welcoming visitors and providing assistance in a courteous and helpful manner.
• Serve as a trained lifeguard to ensure the safety of all users.
• Ensure adequate coverage of the swimming pool area and that the pool is never left unattended during use.
• Provide top‑notch customer service to all members.
• Maintain a safe, clean and tidy centre at all times.

• Passion for delivering outstanding service.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Commitment to maintaining safety and cleanliness.
• Hold or be willing to work towards a National Pool Lifeguard qualification.
• Experience in Leisure Assistant, Fitness Assistant, Lifeguard or similar roles is an advantage.
• Must be willing to undergo full background screening, including an Enhanced DBS check.

Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week, with early mornings and evenings. Weekend cover may be required.
