Job Description Summary

The Manufacturing Engineering Leader is responsible for overseeing and optimizing manufacturing operations to ensure the delivery of high-quality products on time and within budget. This role involves strategic planning, process improvement, team leadership, and collaboration across departments to achieve operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing operations, Lean (FLIGHT DECK) methodologies, and leadership.

Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment. Includes Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Lead and manage day‑to‑day manufacturing operations to meet production schedules, quality standards, and cost targets.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
  • Implement Lean (FLIGHT DECK) principles, including Kaizen, Standard Work, and Hoshin Kanri, to drive process improvements and eliminate waste.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Manage and develop a team of manufacturing professionals, providing coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback.
  • Promote a safe and inclusive work environment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align manufacturing strategies with business objectives.
  • Develop and execute plans to optimize capacity, efficiency, and resource utilization.
  • Analyze operational challenges and implement effective solutions to improve productivity and reduce downtime.
  • Utilize data‑driven decision‑making to address issues and drive results.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Partner with Quality teams to maintain high product standards and resolve quality issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 9 years of experience in Manufacturing Leadership, Engineering and/or Supply Chain Management).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Leadership, Engineering and/or Supply Chain Management.

Desired Characteristics

  • Familiarity with Aerospace manufacturing or other highly regulated industries.
  • Strong experience leading and coaching technical teams.
  • Proven ability to drive measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery and cost (SQDC).
  • Proficiency in structured problem‑solving methods, such as the 4‑step Problem Solving Framework (Define, Analyze, Countermeasure, Sustain), APPS (At Point Problem Solving).
  • Experience in managing complex projects, ensuring timely delivery, and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Commitment to driving continuous improvement and adapting team processes to ensure outcomes.
  • Willingness to teach and share knowledge, including conducting training and coaching sessions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead with respect, inclusivity, and transparency, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Effective communication skills to engage stakeholders, resolve issues, and align team efforts with organizational priorities.
  • Flexible under changing conditions and with different tasks, responsibilities, and people.
  • Ability to stay connected to projects and events throughout their lifecycle, ensuring successful execution and sustained results.

The base pay range for this position is $111,700 - $135,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on January 2, 2026.
