Resource Coordinator

The Department for Children and Families' Rutland Office is seeking a Resource Coordinator to join our team in promoting safety, permanency, well-being, and law abidance for children and youth. We believe in the expertise of families, their extended supports, and the importance of racial equity in all phases of our work. Resource Coordinators help ensure children who can't remain safely at home are cared for by people who know them when possible.

The Rutland office is committed to a workplace culture in which it is safe to ask questions, raise concerns, and learn from mistakes. Staff can expect supportive supervision, shared decision making, and leadership that values the strengths you bring to the team. In this role, you will:

  • Identify and engage relatives and natural supports for children entering care
  • Ensure foster families respect the cultural, ethnic, and spiritual values of the families we serve
  • Recruit and retain kin and foster families using the Diligent Recruitment (DR) process, and track recruitment data
  • Provide foster care orientation and foundation training
  • Support licensed foster parents through visits, phone, and home contacts
  • Serve as district liaison to the local foster parent association
  • Offer education and coaching that helps caregivers use trauma-informed approaches and sustain their work
