Shop Assistant- Grace's Bakery Ryde

We’re looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Part‑Time Shop Assistant to join our team at our Grace’s Bakery!

This position involves working every Saturday during term time, plus more days during the week over school holidays - this makes it an ideal role to carry out alongside studies!

As a Shop Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in delivering excellent customer service, maintaining store standards, and supporting the smooth running of the shop. While your primary location will be our Ryde store, we’re looking for someone who is also willing to occasionally provide cover at our Yarmouth, Newport, or Shanklin stores when required to assist the teams with holiday or sickness cover.

• Provide friendly and efficient customer service
• Assist customers with purchases and product inquiries
• Operate the till and handle cash and card transactions
• Ensure shelves and displays are well‑stocked and visually appealing
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the store
• Support colleagues and assist with other duties as required
• Preparing food and using an espresso machine to make hot drinks

• A positive and proactive attitude
• Someone who is punctual and reliable
• Flexibility to work in multiple locations when required
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine interest in retail and customer service

• Hours:
• 6 - 8 hours a week during term time
• 6 - 32 hours a week during school holidays
• Days:
• Every Saturday during term time
• Every Saturday + additional days between Monday and Friday during school holidays

• £12.21 per hour for over 21s
• £11.50 per hour for 18-21 year olds
• £8.50 per hour for under 18 year olds
