Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to support day-to-day payment operations and vendor coordination for a corporate treasury team in Rye, New York. This long-term contract position is fully onsite and offers the opportunity to contribute to a high-volume accounts payable environment that values accuracy, responsiveness, and strong financial controls. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on AP experience, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining excellent service to internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Review incoming invoices for proper authorization, route outstanding items for approval, and prepare payment batches for timely processing.
• Monitor vendor setup and maintenance activities, ensuring records are accurate and supporting supplier enrollment in electronic payment platforms.
• Coordinate payment execution through ACH, check, and virtual card channels while addressing exceptions and resolving transaction issues promptly.
• Respond to vendor and internal inquiries regarding payment status, remittance details, and account discrepancies in a timely and attentive manner.
• Support corporate card and expense-related programs, including assisting with vendor onboarding to virtual card solutions and related Concur activities.
• Produce accounts payable reporting such as aging summaries, cash needs insights, and vendor activity analysis to support financial decision-making.
• Provide documentation and transaction support for internal and external audit requests tied to accounts payable processes and controls.
• Track invoices moving through system workflows, follow up on items pending beyond expected timelines, and help ensure accurate processing across AP platforms.
