Assistant Professor - Department of Philosophy
Mount Allison University invites applications for a full‑time nine‑month sessional position as Lecturer or Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy.
Position:
Full‑time, nine‑month sessional; commencement on August 15 2026 (subject to budgetary approval). Teaching commitment: five undergraduate courses.
- Introductory Philosophy
- Introductory Ethics
- Year‑long Ancient Philosophy (6 credits)
- Third‑year course on a research‑related topic (preferred focus on Ancient Philosophy)
- Near completion of a PhD in Philosophy (or a completed PhD)
- Strong commitment to undergraduate teaching
- Promising research profile; experience or research interest in Ancient Philosophy preferred
- Demonstrated ability to support departmental commitment to the history of philosophy
