The ideal candidate for the Senior Manufacturing Engineer position should possess strong technical expertise, including proficiency in CNC programming (preferably using NX CAM) and PC‑DMIS CMM programming for dimensional inspection and analysis. They should have extensive knowledge of precision inspection tools and methods, paired with the ability to conduct root‑cause analysis to identify and resolve manufacturing and production issues effectively.

- Develops, evaluates, and improves industrial manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
- Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Determines the parts, equipment, tools, and processes needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications.
- Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
- Communicates manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes.
- Confers with vendors in order to determine specifications of products and arrange equipment, material purchase, and parts.
- Evaluates products based on specifications and quality standards.
Self‑motivation and excellent project management skills are essential, as the role requires managing initiatives, timelines, and deliverables while working independently or collaboratively. A hands‑on approach to problem‑solving is critical, as the candidate will need to troubleshoot, debug processes, and optimize machining efforts in a practical, manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications- Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience
- Discipline/Major: Engineering degree required
- Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree / Must have at least 5 years of machining experience, demonstrating expertise in manufacturing processes such as turning, milling, gun‑drilling and broaching.
- Knowledge, skills & abilities: Oral and written communication skills. Ability to meet deadlines. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Problem‑solving skills. Analytical thinking skills. Design expertise. Leadership skills.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
- Requires regular movement throughout GD‑OTS facilities.
- Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
- This position is Safety‑Sensitive.
Up to 25% travel likely.
