Peoples Choice CU is hiring a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in Saco.

This role is about much more than financial statements, budgets, and regulatory reports. We need someone who can help people throughout the organization understand the "why" behind the numbers and who can make accounting and finance approachable, practical, and relevant to the work our employees do every day, while also working to improve our financial position for members.

At the same time, we are looking for someone who can recognize the responsibility that comes with serving as the financial steward of a credit union. Ideal candidates understand that every decision impacts the long-term strength of the credit union and our ability to serve current and future members. They will bring sound judgment, thoughtful analysis, and a willingness to ask difficult questions when necessary.

Successful candidates will be strategic thinkers who see beyond the numbers and understands the broader opportunities and challenges facing the organization. They will serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, leadership team, and Board, helping evaluate risks, identify opportunities, and ensure decisions are made with both short-term realities and long-term sustainability in mind.

The CFO will be a key member of our leadership team, overseeing Accounting, Enterprise Risk Management, and Compliance while helping guide the long-term direction of the credit union. Just as importantly, this person will be responsible for developing people, building strong teams, and fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and collaboration.

Success in this role requires someone who naturally looks ahead, monitors trends, assesses emerging risks, and identifies opportunities to strengthen the credit union. Whether evaluating growth initiatives, balance sheet strategies, investments, liquidity, operational efficiencies, or new products and services, the CFO will provide informed recommendations that support sound decision-making and align with the best interests of members.

Success in this role extends far beyond producing accurate financial statements or ensuring regulatory compliance.

The CFO serves as a key contributor to the overall health and sustainability of the credit union, helping ensure the organization remains financially strong, operationally sound, and well-positioned for the future. Through meaningful analysis, strategic insight, and thoughtful recommendations, this individual helps leadership make informed decisions that support the credit union's mission and long-term success.
