Activities Assistant
Are you a natural entertainer with a heart for seniors? We are seeking a creative, energetic, and compassionate Activities Assistant to join our life enrichment team. In this role, you won't just be "planning events"—you'll be creating moments of joy, maintaining the dignity of our residents, and ensuring that our facility feels like a vibrant, welcoming community.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions- Lead & Implement: Execute a dynamic daily schedule of activities including music, arts and crafts, exercise classes, games, and religious services.
- One-on-One Engagement: Provide meaningful bedside visits for residents who may be unable to attend group functions.
- Innovation: Contribute fresh ideas for monthly calendars that cater to diverse cognitive and physical abilities, including memory care.
- Documentation & Safety: Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress as required by state and federal regulations, and assist in the safe transport of residents to and from activity areas.
- Schedule: Engaging day-to-day shifts designed to keep our community active and connected.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods and lift or move activity equipment (up to 25 pounds).
- Work Location: In-person community setting.
- The "Vibe": A "people person" who is patient, upbeat, empathetic, and dedicated to working with the elderly and those with dementia.
- Education & Credentials: High School Diploma or equivalent (CNA certification is a plus, but not required).
- Driving Requirement: Valid Maine Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Skills & Reliability: Strong computer skills, clear communication, and consistency—because our residents thrive on seeing familiar faces. (Prior experience in a nursing home, assisted living, or memory care setting is a major plus, but we are willing to train the right personality!)
- Health & Wellness: Full-time employees (30+ hours per week) have access to full benefits including medical, dental, vision, and disability insurance, plus employer-paid life insurance.
- Financial & Lifestyle Support: Flexible savings accounts (including medical and dependent care), an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and Paid Time Off (PTO) available to all employees.
- Retirement & Career Growth: 401(k) retirement savings program with employer contributions, plus tuition reimbursement and education support to grow your healthcare career!
