:
Coastal Women's Healthcare is looking for a Medical Secretary to support our clinical team and help keep patient care running smoothly. This role focuses primarily on scheduling and rescheduling existing patients, working closely with our providers and nursing staff to coordinate care and address scheduling needs as they arise.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a busy medical office. Knowledge of OB/GYN terminology and services is important, as this position works closely with our clinical team and requires an understanding of the care we provide.
What You'll Do
:
- Manage a high volume of appointment scheduling/rescheduling across multiple providers and departments.
- Leverage a computerized scheduling system to align provider availability with patient preferences.
- Proactively review the practice schedule to ensure patients are correctly booked and providers' schedules are opened properly.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive scheduling records to analyze patient and staffing patterns and collaborate with providers and nurses to ensure efficient patient flow.
- Coordinate with providers, clinical staff, and other team members to address scheduling conflicts or concerns; consult with the supervisor on system issues or scheduling challenges.
- Document relevant patient information in the EHR clearly and concisely.
- Effectively manage multiple tasks, ensuring timely notifications of patient normal results, referral appointments, and changes to existing appointments.
- Utilize the patient portal to manage appointment requests and updates.
