Indirect Tax Accountant

Job Description

DPR Construction is looking for an Indirect Tax Accountant with 4+ years of experience, who wants to be a part of a great team. This position has plenty of opportunities to expand skills & knowledge, to grow professionally, and to contribute to the growth of a fantastic company. This is a full-time role with a hybrid office schedule that will be based out of our Sacramento office.

• Prepare and review Sales & Use and Business Personal Property tax returns
• Conduct complex tax research to support compliance and planning initiatives
• Reconcile tax liability accounts to ensure accuracy in financial reporting
• Handle external and internal sales tax audits for company projects
• Resolve tax notices in a timely and accurate manner
• Streamline and automate tax processes to improve efficiency
• Collaborate with the Tax Team and other departments to ensure accurate and timely tax compliance

We are looking for a flexible, detail-oriented team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines. The successful candidate will have:

• Minimum of four years of Sales & Use Tax experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
• Ability to perform complex tax research
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines
• Strong work ethic and a “can-do anything” attitude
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Desire to grow and take on new challenges

• Construction industry experience
• Knowledge of Texas Sales & Use Tax
• Experience using Alteryx
• CPA certification
• Master’s degree in Tax
