The Accounting Division processes all non‑grant claim payments such as service agreements, purchase orders, utilities, and other miscellaneous invoices. It also performs reconciliations of appropriations and cash transactions and is responsible for submission of year‑end financial statements to the State Controller's Office (SCO). Under the direction of the Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor), the Associate Accounting Analyst belongs to the General Ledger Team and utilizes California state policies, rules, and regulations to reconcile appropriations and cash transactions.
The position requires higher‑level analytical skills to prepare complex reconciliations and to prepare GAAP adjustments in compliance with Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) 54 requirements.
- Process non‑grant claim payments (service agreements, purchase orders, utilities, and other invoices).
- Perform daily, monthly, and year‑end reconciliations of appropriations and cash transactions.
- Prepare and submit year‑end financial statements to the State Controller's Office.
- Prepare GAAP adjustments in compliance with CAFR and GASB 54.
- Use California state accounting procedures, policies, rules, and regulations.
