CORE Districts is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising student achievement through collaboration among nine California school districts. Our work focuses on strengthening the collective efficacy in school systems and improving outcomes for students, especially those students that have been traditionally underserved. CORE is in an exciting phase of program growth and development, and we are seeking a Program Associate to support our work.
The Program Associate will work closely with CORE’s Chief of Improvement, District Partnerships to support program-based work. We are seeking a proactive learner who is passionate about CORE’s mission, has event and program administration experience, and who will thrive in our dynamic startup environment. The Program Associate must effectively manage numerous responsibilities at a given time.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Program Associate’s duties and tasks will include, but are not limited to:
Administrative Support- Provides support to Chief of Improvement, District Partnerships including: booking travel, scheduling meetings, calendaring, expense coding, and document tracking.
- Assists with preparation of materials for meetings, including print orders.
- Analyzes and codes participant meeting survey data.
- Supports the maintenance of program documents.
- Supports progress and tracking of program deliverables.
- Transcription of substantial note-taking as a result of event facilitation
- Assists with the planning, coordination, and logistical aspects of program events.
- Assists with the coordination of program communications.
- Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Proficiency in using technology and the ability to learn new technologies and software quickly
- Proficiency in using G Suite (Docs, Sheets, and Slides, Mail, Calendar)
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and connect with individuals at all levels of an organization
- Experience planning and coordinating events
- Proven experience managing and supporting programs
- Ability to understand the context of a non-profit organization
- Comfortable interacting with stakeholders and colleagues in a virtual setting
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- At least two years of experience as a Program Associate or in a similar role

CompensationCORE Districts is a non-profit organization. We will offer a firm and highly competitive starting rate of $24.04 per hour for this position. CORE is committed to equity, and we do not engage in starting salary negotiations. We have found that salary negotiations have the potential to create equity gaps between equally qualified and experienced employees based solely on negotiation skills.
