Summary:

Western Engineering Contractors Inc. is seeking a qualified Pipe Layer for our Underground Division for full-time employment. Western Engineering is a local contractor that is based in Loomis and performs work in the greater Sacramento area and surrounding foothills. Western Engineering is a reputable company that has been rooted in the industry for over 40 years.

Essential Functions:

Performs a combination of tasks, usually working in a utility capacity, as a member of a construction crew on a project consisting of grading, underground utilities, asphalt paving, and/or miscellaneous other construction work.

Education Requirements: High school diploma preferable.

Experience Requirements: 3 or more years of construction experience encompassing grading, underground utilities, and asphalt paving.

Desired Knowledge and/or

Skills:

• Dependable, quality oriented, self-motivated, and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Competent with laser set-up and use (senior level-grading).
• Some familiarity with plan and stake reading (grading & underground).

Western Engineering Contractors provide initial mass grading, utility installation, finish paving, and complete pre-construction services. We often have Section 3 work. Preference will be given to Section 3 residents for hiring.
