DescriptionThe Dental Supervisor will oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the dental team, ensuring smooth clinic workflows, compliance with relevant standards, and high‑quality patient care. Working under the supervision of the Dental Office Manager, the Dental Supervisor will function as a key leader in the dental department, supporting staff, addressing operational challenges, and fostering a collaborative work environment. This role requires diligence, strong organizational skills, and effective communication to ensure seamless coordination between team members and the Dental Office Manager.
Key Responsibilities- Team Leadership and Coordination:
Supervise dental assistants and other clinical support staff; manage daily team schedules, assignments, and clinic flow; conduct regular team meetings; provide mentorship, training, and support. - Operational Oversight:
Monitor compliance with FQHC standards, HRSA guidelines, infection control protocols, and OSHA regulations; oversee inventory and ordering of supplies; develop and implement SOPs; address workflow challenges. - Patient Care and
Experience:
Ensure compassionate, high‑quality care to all patients; address patient concerns; promote adherence to care protocols and use of EDR. - Administrative Responsibilities:
Assist with onboarding, evaluations, performance metrics, audits, and compliance reviews.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a dental office setting, preferably in an FQHC or community health center.
- Previous supervisory or team lead experience.
- Strong leadership, organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with electronic dental records and office software.
- Knowledge of infection control and regulatory requirements.
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant credential required.
- Familiarity with HRSA compliance standards and FQHC workflows preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to compliance standards.
- Ability to foster collaboration, respect, and accountability.
