This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission by coordinating all design and visual communication elements across the department. The incumbent works under the direction of the Staff Services Manager II, Office of Communications, and serves as the Creative Unit Supervisor, responsible for leading the strategic development, oversight, and alignment of public-facing education and outreach efforts that support CDPH centers, divisions, and offices.
The position ensures that all visual communication materials—including social media images, infographics, animations, reports, design elements, templates, and more—align with the latest design standards and trends, reflect CDPH’s brand and strategic plan, and are rooted in health equity and accessible to diverse audiences across California. The incumbent supervises the graphic designers on the Comms Outreach and Education team and works closely with the Social Media Manager and project coordinators.
