Position DescriptionThe Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UC Davis School of Medicine is recruiting for a highly qualified accredited orthopedic Foot and Ankle fellowship-trained surgeon with experience to complement its comprehensive MSK care initiatives. The position will serve in the Clinical-X series at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank to commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The UC Davis Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is the premier surgical service provider in the greater Sacramento region and beyond and is based on the UC Davis Health campus in Sacramento, California. Sacramento is an easily accessible, family-oriented city in close proximity to the San Francisco Bay area, Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the California coast, and Napa Valley.
ExpectationsThis position will provide orthopaedic foot and ankle clinical and surgical care at UC Davis Health. This position will also include the teaching and supervision of fellows, residents, and medical students, as well as participate in departmental meetings, conferences, hospital and departmental committees.
This recruitment is conducted at the Assistant or Associate rank. The resulting hire will be at the Assistant or Associate rank regardless of the proposed appointee's qualifications.
Basic Qualifications- Possess an M.D. (or equivalent).
- Have completed an approved Orthopaedic Surgery residency program.
- Must have experience in and the ability to teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment and adhere to University policy and procedures.
- Must demonstrate the ability and experience to conduct scholarly/clinical/translational research.
- Must provide evidence of experience obtaining extramural funding and/or administering clinical trials.
- Board certified/eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery.
- Fellowship-trained in Foot and Ankle Surgery.
- Must be eligible for licensure in the State of California and/or have an active California medical license prior to appointment start date.
- Demonstrated teaching experience in an academic clinical setting is preferred.
