- Complete all employment documentation and required training.
- Prepare and submit course syllabi, instructional materials, and assessments.
- Provide a conducive classroom environment and adhere to university policies.
- Teach assigned courses using effective pedagogical methods.
- Track attendance and refer students to administration as needed.
- Utilize learning management platforms to post assignments and communicate with students.
- Read and grade student work, providing timely feedback.
- Hold office hours for individualized instruction.
- Coordinate with administration to schedule make‑up classes when necessary.
- Submit grades to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Experiential Learning.

- Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree.
- At least three (3) years of post‑J.D. work experience in a related legal field.
- Evidence of teaching potential (prior teaching experience desirable but not essential).
- Additional experience in substantive legal practice.
- Ability to lead and function in an active change environment.
- Commitment to excellence and diversity.
- Experience advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion within a university setting.
- Skill in engaging culturally responsive practices and knowledge.
Work involves extended periods of sitting, repetitive hand/wrist motion on a computer, occasional standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations are available.
Work Environment / Work Week / TravelPrimarily at the Sacramento campus; work may require evenings and/or weekends depending on the class schedule.
Hiring Range$2,304.00 per unit. Compensation is based on scope, responsibilities, qualifications, and market considerations.
