We are an established church that celebrated our 50th anniversary in 2021. We currently have about 100 communicant members, with a total baptized membership of around 150. We welcome an average of 20-25 visitors each week. Our Sunday School program emphasizes teaching through the Bible, memorizing Scripture and the Heidelberg Catechism. We are located near downtown Sacramento but attract visitors and members from the greater area.

Our vision is to equip the saints and engage, evangelize, and share the gospel with our local community.

We are a member of the Reformed Church in the United States . Our subordinate standards are the Heidelberg Catechism, the Belgic Confession, and the Canons of Dort (The Three Forms of Unity). We are orthodox, conservative, Reformed, and evangelical—our great desire is to see His kingdom come.

Our church has a close relationship with the City Seminary of Sacramento. The Spiritual Council provides oversight and is responsible for interviewing prospective professors. For more information, please visit

We hold to a very high view of the Bible, our rule of faith in life and practice. As such, two issues are important to us. If you have serious reservations about subscribing to the following, we will respect your position, but we also respect your time and guard ours, and we ask that you not proceed.

1. Biblical Texts

Our constitution requires us to use the King James Version in public ministry. We recently amended our Constitution to include the New King James Version. We believe they are faithful translations of the best manuscripts that have stood the test of time (the Byzantine/Majority text family). Our constitution also requires that all sermons be expositions of these texts. Candidates must be willing to preach from them without contesting their authenticity.

2. Six-Day Creation

In 1999, a special RCUS committee wrote the position paper “The Days of Creation:
The Report of the Special Committee to Articulate the Doctrine of Creation,” which was adopted by the 253rd Synod of the RCUS. The paper defended the historic, orthodox doctrine that “God created the heavens and the earth in six normal days which were chronological periods of light and darkness as recorded in the book of Genesis.” If you have any hesitation embracing this understanding of the doctrine of creation, then, once again, you are not a good fit for us.
