Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic Quality Systems Engineer to join our elevator manufacturing team in Sacramento. In this role, you will support day‑to‑day quality activities, assist in resolving supplier and production issues, and help maintain compliance with company and industry quality standards. You will collaborate with engineers, production teams, and suppliers to collect and analyze data, perform inspections, and contribute to process improvements.

This position offers hands‑on experience in manufacturing quality practices and the opportunity to develop your technical skills while supporting safe, reliable, and high‑performing elevator products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the supplier qualification and approval process by supporting audits, assessments, and basic risk evaluations.
  • Conduct inspections of incoming materials and components to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Support data collection and maintenance of supplier performance metrics and scorecards.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (RCA/CAPA) activities under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Assist in documenting and updating quality control procedures and work instructions.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including Sourcing, Engineering, and Production, to address basic quality issues and implement process improvements.
  • Help prepare quality reports, inspection records, and other documentation for internal and supplier communications.
  • Monitor and track nonconformance reports and follow up with suppliers as directed.
  • Support supplier and internal quality initiatives to meet safety, reliability, and compliance requirements.
  • Travel occasionally to supplier or customer locations as needed (up to 25%).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing technology, or a related technical field (or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience).
  • Up to 2 years of experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical role (internships, co‑ops, or project‑based experience encouraged).
  • Basic understanding of quality principles, inspection methods, and common manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with fundamental quality tools (e.g., basic FMEA, SPC charts, 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams); willingness to learn advanced tools such as PPAP, APQP, and MSA.
  • Exposure to or coursework in ISO 9001 or other quality management standards.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to collect, organize, and analyze data.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP or quality management software is a plus.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 25%) to supplier or customer sites.
