We are seeking a qualified Mid-Level Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing, managing, and directing geotechnical engineering evaluations for projects of varying complexity. Additionally, they will provide review and oversight of geotechnical engineering practices, assist in technical staff development, and contribute to business development efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee, manage, and direct geotechnical engineering evaluations for projects with varying complexity.
  • Provide review and oversight of geotechnical engineering practices.
  • Prepare subsurface investigation proposals and assist in marketing and acquiring subsurface investigations.
  • Assist in the technical development of engineering staff.
  • Support business development efforts, including attending short‑list interviews, reviewing RFPs/RFQs, and developing proposals.
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing group to help acquire geotechnical investigation projects.
  • Maintain company‑established chargeability goals.
Required Competencies
  • Proficiency in both design and construction‑related aspects of geotechnical engineering.
  • Experience in shallow and deep foundation design, including Caltrans design of bridge foundations, retaining walls, MSE walls, and pavements.
  • Familiarity with design of mat‑type foundations and development of mat foundation design parameters.
  • Proficiency in using Settle3D, Slide, All Pile, L‑Pile, Shaft, CLiq, and Liquefy Pro.
  • Experience with field infiltration testing and development of design infiltration rates.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and potential clients.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil/geotechnical engineering.
  • Minimum of 6 years of civil/geotechnical engineering experience.
  • California GE registration (Desired)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced problem‑solving abilities.
Preferred Competencies
  • Experience in site‑specific ground motion studies, including time‑history analyses.
  • Experience with cement‑ and lime‑treated mix design and field implementation per Greenbook.
  • Experience with successful interaction with CGS/DSA/OSHPD/GMED reviewers.
  • Experience with successful sales and marketing of government agencies for geotechnical engineering projects.
  • Demonstrated successful leadership of a team of engineers/soil technicians.
