Job Description
Associate Hydroelectric Power Utility Engineer at the Department of Water Resources. This position is located in the Arden‑Arcade area of Sacramento, CA, and pays an annual range of $9,713 to $12,151 per month.
Responsibilities- Perform engineering analysis, electrical operations reporting, and financial analysis in support of the Transaction Analysis Unit.
- Develop and maintain the energy accounting system, cost allocation system, and other custom system models.
- Assist with the upkeep of the energy accounting system, including data entry, validation, and reporting.
- Support cost allocation and financial modeling activities related to hydroelectric power utility operations.
- Must be available to work outside normal business hours, including overnight travel.
- Travel throughout the state of California will be required.
- Employee is required to successfully complete all safety training related to the functions of the job.
- Eligible to obtain satisfactory background checks under the North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection Standard CIP‑004.
- Minimum qualifications are detailed in the Class Specification. Applicants must meet these qualifications and provide evidence of experience and education that demonstrates how they meet the minimum requirements.
- Experience or knowledge of California Independent System Operator (CAISO) energy markets and settlements.
- Familiarity with State Water Project (SWP) operations.
- Proficiency in coding and scripting for data analysis and automation.
- Strong ability to troubleshoot software and manage datasets, with experience in data‑management tools and best practices.
