Position: DEPUTY INSPECTOR GENERAL
Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of a Deputy Inspector General, Senior, the Deputy Inspector General will conduct reviews of closed California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) use-of-force investigations; assist in conducting vettings of CDCR warden candidates; and, as assigned, conduct special reviews of CDCR's policies, practices, and procedures. The Deputy Inspector General will travel, as required, to CDCR prisons and facilities and to Office of the Inspector General (OIG) regional offices and headquarters in Sacramento, California.

Travel may require occasional overnight stays.

Telework eligibility is pursuant to Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California.

This position is eligible for teleworking under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California, but some inoffice work may be required. Proof of California residency will be required prior to start date, if teleworking.

The designated Headquarters (HQ) for this position is in Kern County, and the selected candidate will be required to commute to their HQ office location as needed to meet operational needs. All commute expenses to the HQ location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
