Base Pay Range: $6,646.00 - $8,324.00 (New to state candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification)
Duties and Responsibilities- Acts as the technical and operational expert for a team.
- Is assigned the more complex/sensitive cases handled by the Unit.
- Acts in a lead capacity, working with team members handling billing, analysis, delinquency maintenance and return processing activities.
- Performs special assignments and other job-related duties as required.
- Access to trainers and leads daily to ensure your transition to our department goes smoothly.

- Position requires employee to be fingerprinted and successfully pass a background investigation.
- Must work until 5 PM.
- Travel may be required up to five percent (5%) of the time.

In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications for the Business Taxes Compliance Specialist, competition is limited to individuals who meet at least one of the following promotional examination criteria: permanent civil service appointment with CDTFA; current or former employees of the legislature for 2 or more years; current or former non-elected exempt employees of the executive branch for 2 or more consecutive years;
or retired United States military honoreously discharged from active duty with a service disability or honorably discharged from active duty as defined in Government Code 18991.
