Contracts Analyst | Associate Governmental Program Analyst / Analyst II (JC-502359)

Pay Range

$6,031.00 – $7,547.00 (A)

Description

This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by independently performing responsible, varied, and complex technical analysis and coordination for the development of contracts. The incumbent administers the Division’s contracts and provides contract expertise and services by performing analytical work to assist all levels of staff within the Division. The role requires knowledge of Public Contract Code, Government Code, Labor Code, Public Resources Code, Business and Professions Code, Code of Regulations, and the State Administrative Manual.

The Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) will work in a multidisciplinary team environment and may be tasked with leading in certain situations.

Responsibilities
  • Administer the Division’s contracts.
  • Perform complex analytical work to support contract development.
  • Interpret applicable reference sources and provide technical advice to staff.
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist staff with negotiating, drafting, and managing contractual documents.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with some independence.
  • Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience providing technical advice and consultative services at various levels.
  • Knowledge or experience with contracting and procurement processes.

Eligibility Information

New to California State Service: must pass the Associate Governmental Program Analyst exam. Current state employees without transfer or list eligibility must also pass the exam. Review exam bulletin on Cal Careers/Exams.
