Position: SENIOR LEGAL TYPIST
Job Description and Duties

Under the direct supervision of the Regional Director, and the general supervision of the General Counsel, the incumbent provides clerical support for staff in the Santa Maria Regional Office and for staff working in the Rural Strategic Engagement Program (RSEP). The incumbent performs a full range of less complex legal secretarial and administrative duties. The position requires the ability to exercise independence, work under pressure, and apply tact, discretion, and initiative in performing assigned duties.

This position is 12-month Limited Term, but may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.

The ALRB exercises jurisdiction over approximately 800,000 farm workers and employers, providing collective bargaining rights to farm workers that were specifically exempted from the coverage of the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) in 1935. * The position(s) require(s) fluency in the Spanish language. If the State of California does not have a current record documenting your fluency in this language, you will be required to successfully pass an approved language fluency test prior to being hired.

* The position(s) require(s) a(n) Typing Certificate. You will be required to provide a copy of your certificate prior to being hired.

Typing certification must be a minimum of 45 WPM, 5 minutes in length, and proctored either virtually or in person in the last four years.
