Examples Of Knowledge And AbilitiesKnowledge of
- Criminal law, codes, ordinances and court interpretations pertaining to the rights of citizens, apprehension, arrest, search and seizure, and rules of evidence
- Modern technical and administrative methods of crime prevention, law enforcement, and related functions including investigation and identification, patrol, and public safety
- Principles and practices of community-based policing
- Modern principles, practices, and techniques of law enforcement administration, organization, and operations
- County and Departmental policies and procedures
- Principles and practices of supervision, discipline, leadership, mentoring, and training
- Principles and practices of municipal budget preparation and administration
- Principles and practices of management and organizational theory, including planning, organizational design, business finance, business development, project management, and organizational effectiveness

Ability to

Minimum Qualifications
Four years of full-time, paid experience in the class of Sheriff’s Lieutenant in Sacramento County service.
A Bachelor’s Degree, or higher, from an accredited college or university may substitute for two of the required four years of experience listed above.
