Job Description and Duties
Under general supervision of the Manager I, the Office Technician (Typing) is the advanced journey level of the series which regularly performs variety of the most difficult duties of clerical work consistently exercises a high degree of initiative, independence, and originality in performing assigned tasks; uses good judgment and the ability to communicate effectively when responding to numerous inquiries and requests for assistance.
Regularly require detailed and sensitive public contact and/or independent origination of correspondence involving the knowledge and application of detailed regulations, policies and procedures.

Working Conditions
* This position is eligible for hybrid telework under California Government Code Section 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California. All telework schedules are subjectto change and may be reevaluated at any time. Specific telework arrangements may be discussed in more detail with the respective hiring manager.
* Occasional travel in-region, and rare out-of-region travel is required for this position, using a personal vehicle for official state business; mileage reimbursement will be provided in accordance with state regulations. Must possess and maintain a valid California driver's license and carry adequate vehicle insurance as required by state policy. This position requires occasional work during evenings and/or weekends.

The State Council on Developmental Disabilities (SCDD) is an independent state agency mandated by federal and state law to pursue systemic change, capacity-building, and advocacy to promote a person-centered consumer and family-based system of services and supports for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) and/or crossed disabilities. The goal of the federal law is to enable individuals with I/DD (self-advocates) to maximize their self-determination, independence, productivity, and community integration and inclusion.
The State Council (Council) consists of 31 voting individual, family, and agency members, all of whom are appointed by the Governor.
