Position description

The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Nephrology, at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine is recruiting for one full‑time faculty member in the Professor of Clinical X or Health Sciences Clinical Professor series at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor rank in endocrinology. Faculty in the Clinical X series is expected to engage in professional competence and activity, teaching, research and creative work, and University/public service.

Faculty in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series are expected to engage in teaching, professional competence and activity, scholarly or creative activities, and University/public service.

EXPECTATIONS

The selected candidates for this series are required to participate in patient care and teaching. The selected candidates will care for ESRD patients at various dialysis clinics and a skilled‑nursing facility, maintain a renal continuity clinic within the Health System, participate on the inpatient renal consultative teaching and non‑teaching services, and participate on the inpatient renal consultative service at the rehabilitation hospital.

Experience or interest in teaching medical students, residents and nephrology fellows is required. Participation in Divisional, Departmental, University and community public service is also expected.

Qualifications Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
  • M.D., M.D./Ph.D., D.O. or equivalent degree
  • Board certification/eligibility in Nephrology
  • Teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level
Additional qualifications (required at time of start)
  • Medical licensure or eligible for licensure in the state of California
  • ACGME accredited fellowship in Nephrology or equivalent experience
