OverviewSierra Vista Hospital is part of the UHS Family of Providers which has been highly regarded as an integral part of the greater Sacramento and Northern California mental health system since 1986. We have offered our clinical expertise to those suffering from behavioral health disorders or dual diagnosis. Our private 171-bed facility is home to a clinical team of licensed professionals committed to providing the highest quality care.
We also provide inpatient alcohol detox and outpatient chemical dependency services. While most of our patients are from the Sacramento metro area, we also provide behavioral health, chemical dependency and dual diagnosis services to individuals and their families throughout northern and central California.
The Intake Department Coordinator oversees the intake and admission workflow for patients seeking psychiatric and substance use services, ensuring timely clinical assessment, accurate registration, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders. The role focuses on centralized triage, bed management, and real‑time communication to optimize access and throughput across the continuum of behavioral health services.
Qualifications Education:- Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree in a behavioral health–related field preferred.
- Experience in an inpatient/outpatient behavioral health, medical office, or call center environment preferred.
- Familiarity with behavioral health terminology, diagnostic categories, and common screening tools.
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to work with culturally diverse and vulnerable populations.
- Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and follow through.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel software programs.
- Effective oral and written communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work as a team player in a fast‑paced environment and grow with the changing demands of the position.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
