Patient Services Representative 3 (MOSC
3)
The Patient Services Representative 3 is responsible for sustaining an environment of intrinsic goodwill for the practice while providing optimum services to patients. This position may also perform front office duties consistent with those of Patient Services Representative 2, per operational needs.
Key Responsibilities- Coordination of Medical Office Services (50%)

- High School / GED equivalent or related work experience
- Experience with practices and protocols related to medical office scheduling, insurance verification, cashiering, billing, and medical records
- Ability to accomplish a variety of concurrent assignments effectively and efficiently
- Problem‑solving skills and decision‑making skills to independently define and resolve problems within delegated authority
- Interpersonal skills to interact with patients and public with patience, courtesy, and professionalism
- Typing, writing, and bookkeeping skills sufficient for accurate record‑keeping and communication
- Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality, privacy, and medical record standards
- Knowledge of health‑care insurance systems and coding guidelines for accurate billing and referral documentation
- Three (3) years of customer service or call center experience
- Recent experience with EMR (EPIC) including In Basket and Work Queues
- Training or recent experience in billing, authorizations, referrals, medical terminology, and comprehensive insurance plans
- Recent experience in an outpatient medical office or front office for a clinic or physician
- Experience processing referrals or authorizations for patient services
- Previous experience in a Urology outpatient clinic
- Knowledge of UCD policies, University requisition systems, and health‑system procedures
The department provides state‑of‑the‑art medical and surgical care for pediatric and adult urology patients and conducts research and clinical trials.

- Designation as a mandated reporter under CANRA and UC policy
- Handling of cash or cash equivalents
The final candidate who accepts a conditional offer of employment will be required to disclose any misconduct, allegations, or administrative or disciplinary proceedings within the last seven years.
